Benefits of Membership In Depth

Networking:  Each month the Chamber provides opportunities for you to meet other businesses and potential customers by hosting an array of events that offer our members networking possibilities. 

The Chamber hosts a Networking Luncheon on the second Wednesday of each month that is always well attended.  Get a chance to network with other businesses and promote your own! 

We also host a Quarterly Business After Hours, Evening Exchange, for our members to network in a casual environment.

Opportunities to volunteer are always available to allow you to work more closely with other Chamber members and increase your networking possibilities.

Join us for one of the many Chamber special events to make new contacts while increasing exposure for the products and services you offer.

Meet your local representatives and hear updates on legislative issues at our annual Third House Sessions.  These breakfasts allow local citizens and businesses an opportunity to be involved in state politics.

Marketing:  The Chamber recommends member businesses exclusively – in our newsletter, on our website, in our directory and to new residents and businesses.  Plus the Chamber’s annual events provide members with opportunities for sponsorship and advertising.

Each month the Chamber mails a newsletter to each of its members.  You may purchase ads in the newsletter for as little as $25.00 for two months or put in a separate insert of your own for a $30.00 inserting/mailing fee.  Articles about your business may be published in the newsletter at no cost to our members.

The Chamber has a business card rack and a literature display area where you can insert your business literature and cards.  Visitors to the Porter Center often browse this area for information about Shelby County and the businesses in the area.  Is your material included?

Opportunities to volunteer are always available to allow you to work more closely with other Chamber Members and increase your networking opportunities.

From our Business and Industry Trade Fair to our Women’s Expo, Cash Bash, Golf Outing or Annual Awards Program, our members are offered sponsorship opportunities that maximize their business exposure in the community. We recognize and highlight our sponsors at each event.

Our website is designed by nationally award winning Weblink International, a company that specializes in websites for chambers of commerce. In addition to providing a community calendar, we offer a basic listing of our members. The basic member listing is FREE. Call for a list of prices for upgrades to your listing. There will also be a limited number of sponsorship opportunities on our site available to chamber members only.

Assistance with Open Houses, Ribbon Cuttings, Special Events-Call us if we can assist you with any special events you may be having at your business.

Each Wednesday the Chamber sends out an email to over 600 of its members.  Do you have a special event or promotion coming up that you would like to publicize in our email?  Contact the Chamber and we will add the information to our email broadcast.

Every Friday Morning at 9:15am, Chamber Executive Director, Julie Metz participates in Chamber Chat with Johnny McCrory on WSVX 1520.  If you are a Presidential Member, you are entitled to “chat” with Julie on the radio and promote your business-free!  Call to schedule your “chat” with the chamber today!

The Chamber of Commerce is one of the most widely used referral and information sources for residents and visitors looking for services and products.  Every Chamber member receives a free listing in our Community Guide which is distributed to current and new residents.

Chamber members have access to our mailing list of members for direct marketing.  For a nominal fee, we will provide mailing labels to make your project easy.  Save money on your next mailer by using the Chamber’s bulk mail permit which allows you to send your material at a reduced cost.

The Chamber brings seminars and training to our community throughout the year to help businesses keep their staff updated and trained at minimal costs.
